On the 25th of February in a year long gone by, there was an incision, then my cries could be heard. Since that moment, everything has been rather blurry. Some how an education degree became entangled amongst the memories, resulting in my working with children, and assisting their parents in educating them.

Spiralysis is the name of my lifelong project. It is a continuous never attending attempt to push the envelope in all creative endeavors that I undertake along my journey through this life.

The gallery contains images of coloured canvas and photographs, whilst dwelling in the studio may result in yourself experiencing a piece of the Elysian Fields. Take your pick, it's up to you....

What does spiralysis mean?

Many have asked what the word spiralysis means. Quite simply it is a word I devised that describes the brief feeling one gets when discovering the incredible power and majesty of spirals. For those interested, the Fibonacci sequence, and golden number phi, when constructed create a spiral. What's so great about that you may ask. Well spirals can be seen in all aspects of life, throughout the universe. From the structure of DNA which makes us, through to the galaxies in space, spirals are the structural base in all things. As Dr Stephen Marquardt once said "All life is biology. All biology is physiology. All physiology is chemistry. All chemistry is physics. All physics is math."

Curiously, the mathematical constant of 1.618... that is found throughout creation is represented by the symbol Φ, which is the symbol 0 for nothing split in two by the symbol 1 for unity and one.  Could this be the true meaning behind the symbol Φ?  (Oddly enough, to type Φ on your computer, you hold the Alt key and enter 1000 on the number pad, an interesting "alt"ernate look at 1 with a trinity of 0's!)

Adding Unity to nothingness produces the Fibonacci series, which converges on Φ

Now ADD God to the void, or Unity to Nothing.  In other words, add 0 plus 1 to get 1, and then follow this pattern to the Infinite.  This is the Fibonacci series.  The ratio of each number in the series to the one before it converges on Φ as you move towards infinity, ∞!

Only "tri-viding" the whole preserves the relationship to the whole

And so it is with our understanding of God, that we are created in His image.  Not by dividing the whole, but only by tri-viding the whole does each piece retain its unique relationship to the whole.  Only here do we see three that are two that are one.

The Book of John begins with these words that capture the essence of this:

In the beginning was the Word,
and the Word was with God,
and the Word was God.

Jesus, in John 14:9, expressed a similar thought:

Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father.

Here the human Jesus (the Son of Man) is to the divine Jesus (the Son of God) as the divine Jesus (the Son of God) is to God (the Father or whole).

So to put it simply, spirals represent life, and life is a reflection of God (in whatever light you see God. If you do not see God as a perfect, omnipotent and omniscient originator and ruler of the universe, then it is not God you are thinking about.) Therefore this site is a dedication to the infinite powers throughout the universe.
